Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline Year: 2025

PLE Health Ltd has established 2025 as its baseline year for measuring and monitoring greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions have been calculated using operational data and the UK Government Greenhouse Gas Conversion Factors for Company Reporting in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and the requirements of Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 006.

Scope 1 Emissions

Scope 1 emissions arise from the combustion of natural gas used within PLE Health Ltd’s leased office premises. During the baseline reporting year, natural gas consumption totalled 16,676.9 kWh, resulting in Scope 1 emissions of 3.05 tCO₂e.

PLE Health Ltd operates an all-electric company vehicle fleet and therefore reports no direct tailpipe emissions from company-owned vehicles.

Scope 2 Emissions

Scope 2 emissions arise from purchased electricity consumed within the organisation’s leased office premises. Electricity consumption during the baseline year totalled 26,668 kWh, resulting in Scope 2 emissions of 4.72 tCO₂e.

Electric vehicle charging undertaken at the office is included within the reported electricity consumption.

Scope 3 Emissions

Scope 3 emissions have been calculated using operational information and recognised UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors and include the relevant categories required under PPN 006.

Employee commuting represents the largest element of PLE Health Ltd’s Scope 3 emissions. During the baseline year, commuting emissions were calculated using workforce numbers, average commuting distances and standard UK Government emission conversion factors.

Business travel has been minimised through the use of remote meetings and secure video conferencing. Where travel is essential, journeys are undertaken using the organisation’s fully electric vehicle fleet.

PLE Health Ltd introduced a Cycle to Work Scheme during 2025 to encourage sustainable commuting and reduce transport-related emissions. Hybrid working arrangements introduced in April 2026 are expected to deliver further reductions in employee commuting emissions in future reporting years.

Waste generation, water consumption and upstream transportation emissions have been calculated using operational consumption data and recognised reporting methodologies. PLE Health Ltd will continue to refine its data collection processes and improve the accuracy of Scope 3 reporting as additional supplier and operational information becomes available.

Carbon Reduction Targets

PLE Health Ltd is committed to continual improvement and has adopted the following carbon reduction objectives:

  • Reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by at least 10% by 2030 against the 2025 baseline.
  • Continue reducing Scope 1 emissions through improved energy efficiency.
  • Reduce Scope 2 emissions by improving electricity efficiency and reviewing renewable energy procurement opportunities.
  • Reduce Scope 3 emissions by promoting sustainable commuting, expanding hybrid working where operationally appropriate, increasing uptake of the Cycle to Work Scheme and engaging suppliers on environmental performance.
  • Achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Declaration

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with Procurement Policy Note (PPN) 006 and the associated Technical Standard for the Completion of Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and use the appropriate UK Government greenhouse gas conversion factors for company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions has been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors of PLE Health Ltd and will be reviewed annually.
