Couples counselling
Couples counselling
Even the strongest relationships face challenges. Whether you’re arguing more than usual, feeling disconnected, or navigating a major life change, couples counselling can help you and your partner understand each other better and work through your difficulties together.
At PLE Health, we offer professional, confidential couples counselling with qualified therapists. We provide a supportive space to talk openly, rebuild trust, and find a way forward, no matter what stage your relationship is at.
What is couples counselling?
Couples counselling is a form of talking therapy designed to help partners improve their communication, resolve conflict, and strengthen their emotional connection. It isn’t about taking sides or placing blame. It’s about giving both people space to speak and be heard with guidance from an experienced therapist.
You don’t need to be on the verge of breaking up to seek help. Many couples attend counselling as a way to reconnect, build skills, or make important decisions with more clarity.

Common reasons couples seek counselling
Frequent arguments or unresolved conflict
Feeling distant, unheard, or emotionally disconnected
Infidelity, broken trust, or secrets
Parenting disagreements or family pressures
Financial stress or lifestyle differences
Navigating major life changes (e.g. moving, loss, retirement)
Considering separation or struggling to decide what’s next
Whatever you're going through, couples counselling can help you explore it together in a calm, constructive way.
What to expect from sessions
In your first session, your therapist will get to know you both, what’s brought you to counselling, and what you'd like to work on. From there, you’ll meet regularly (usually weekly or fortnightly) to explore what’s going on in the relationship and learn ways to move forward.
Couples counselling may involve:
Improving communication and listening
Understanding emotional triggers and patterns
Exploring past experiences that affect the relationship
Rebuilding intimacy and trust
Setting boundaries or shared goals
We offer sessions online or in person - whatever feels more comfortable for you.
